I wanna voice I want to share
I want a voice I want to share
				I want a voice I wanna share
no, I wanna voice I wanna share

Held back by my own ventriloquy,
O Lord I wanna hear my people roar!
with the might of the rains of Udu Mmiri,
				but here,
				now,
it’s more like the sun in harmattan
				I think,
				I wouldn’t know
				I’ve never seen it

I wanna language that’s mine to share
I want a language that’s mine to share
I want a language that will be mine to share
no, I wanna language that will be mine to share

I want to walk out of church with the drip of the glorious array
of the true heritage of my past
and true being of my present,
I want to work through the contradictions in that statement
and be enraptured by the faith
				of our historical being

Mine is a language that I want to share
Mine will be a language that I want to share
Mine is a language that I wanna share
Mine will be a language that I wanna share

I will speak it again & again
in every infinite way I can figure
				until you hear ME
I speak it alone at home
I spoke it with all of you in my dreams
				I scream it now
				until you hear ME

Mine is a language that’s mine to share
Mine will be a language that’s mine to share
Mine is a language that will be mine to share
Mine will be a language that will be mine to share
